This was the second field trip I went on with Rick Nolthenius to the Big Sur site. I went down on a Thursday night by myself figuring I would get in an extra night of imaging. Once I got there I got the tent set up and then the flies descended. There were so many that I had to take refuge in my tent for the day. Thank goodness I brought a good long book to keep me busy. Here is a shot of Fred.
Our instructor, Rick Nolthenius. Rick does a wonderful breakfast of crepes on his field trips. Yum!
Some of the students. A lot of the students take Rick's classes thinking it will be a no-effort way to get their science requirements done. Rick's classes are all challenging and there's always a test at the end of these field trips.
Just some generic pictures of our campsite and the students.
Some of our telescopes with thermal covers. My rig is the one in the middle.
More telescopes and students.
Annie was in all of the Astro 9 classes I took with Rick. She worked at the computer lab on campus and was always helpful and a lot of fun!
Fred's friend, Janalee, Fred and Annie.
