SCAC Farewell 2015
I started attending and joined SCAC in 2008, about the time I started taking astronomy and astro photography classes from Rick Nolthenius at Cabrillo College.

I first met Fred in our Astro 9 class. We ended up taking two of the classes together.

Chris was holding the club together by his fingernails as the only remaining club officer for a number of years. In 2010 I accepted a nomination for president of the club. I talked Fred into the VP job. Chris took the Secretary job and Bill volunteered to be treasurer. Walter took a post as director at large. We got a lot done in the next two years and Fred found lots of great speakers. Jeff took over the reins and has been doing a fantastic job of keeping the momentum going.

Before the meeting a bunch of us went out for dinner. They all picked up the tab for Carol and me. During the meeting Fred presented me with a really nice plaque on behalf of the club.
SCAC Farewell 2015
We had about 30 people at my last meeting. A new record!

This was our speaker for the evening.

After the speaker Carol and I served up some apple pie and whipped cream. I've had a wonderful time with all the folks in the SCAC. Thanks to everyone that made it so much fun!!! Carol and I are off on a new adventure now - moving to Sacramento. Still have my telescope and a car, though... :)
