Fremont Peak
2008 Fremont Peak is a mountain that stands at 3200' just an hour's drive south of Watsonville. It's high enough to be above the marine layer so there's not much dew, if any. This is a view looking out toward Monterey. When there's fog, it keeps the light way down, giving some really excellent dark skies. |

2008 Here we are setting up for an evening of observing. This is shortly after I got my first telescope. It was a Meade 10" SCT on a fork mount. I had just discovered that if I wanted to do astro photography, it needed to be on an equatorial mount, so I put the whole thing on a wedge. Jerry Miller, Craig Wandke, me, and I don't recall who that fellow on the right is. |

2008 Bill Seiler setting up his 10" Dobsonian relector. Bill usually travels in his Mini Cooper. It's absolutely amazing what he can fit into that thing :) |
