Yosemite 2016
This year was another excellent visit to Glacier Point. Here's this years' gang:
Seth, Steve, Terry, Jeff, Andy, Jeff, Ron, Bill, Chris and our most excellent photographer, John.
Kirk didn't make the photo this year as well as another guest astronomer, Vernon.

This year we had a guest astronomer, Vernon on the left, join us. Next to him are two old timers, Chris and Jeff :)

Once breakfast is done it's time to get back to studying the night sky with a sky chart.

One of our new club members - Andy. Andy was nice enough to bring some small sandwiches and ice cream for the gang. Thanks, Andy!

This year our resident ranger was Rachel, a very nice young lady who gave us a great introduction on both Friday and Saturday evenings.

Once you get all set up it's just a matter of waiting for dark. Here's Bill relaxing while looking south for Mars and Saturn while the sun goes down behind the hill to the West. The planets are really bright, so they tend to be visible long before it gets dark enough to see the stars.

Chris checking out something to the west in his binocular telescope. This telescope takes a little while to get used to as you're actually viewing what is behind you. This telescope has really excellent views.

Here is a nice shot of me and my rig with Half Dome in the background. Chris and his binocular scope way in the back on the right.
Yosemite 2016
Since we like to get all set up before it gets dark there's usually lots of time to look for hikers up on top of Half Dome. Some of the braver souls go right to the edge to look down the face and occasionally we'll find some climbers going up the face. Here's Bill with a couple of park visitors checking out Half Dome.

Our other new guy, Jeff setting up for taking a cool time-lapse video. There's a link to it at the bottom of this page. Well done, Jeff.

John and Kirk also took some nice photos along with Jeff's video.

Once again Terry has done an outstanding job of documenting our trip to Glacier Point. Check out his video here. Great music choice, too!
